On departure day, I drive over to the storage area, get the RV out of its slot, hook the car on, and then come by the house. During that time Jo-Anne is staging our neccessary stuff in the garage and closing up the house and retrieving pets. As soon as I arrive we drag all the stuff out of the garage and load up the bus, and off we go. We are usually on the road by about 9 or so.
On the last two trips to New Braunfels we have stopped one way (the other way at the burger joint) at a really nice picnic area just north of Bastrop for our microwave sandwiches and relieve the human and dog bladders ... nice not to have to use the gas station bathrooms any more, or that tree in the picture (Buster's the exception ... he still goes where he used to). As we approach the park we just cut the generator on and the microwave comes into action.
And the last two trips we have stayed at least a couple of days at the Hilltop RV park just south of New Braunfels on Interstate 35. Nice park with super people! I thought the sign was fitting for the blog as well.
After the trip is over, we reverse the process: stop by the house first and unload into the garage, then I take bus and car over to the hangar, unhook the car, park the RV in its home, and by that time Jo-Anne has carted all of the pets, food, and other stuff back into its normal spots in the house ... whew ... it helps to be "young," eh.
