On the 26th of March we arrived in Tucson at the Lazydays RV Campground below. We had been here before in 2008 and at that time it was called Beaudry's which had gone bankrupt. Still a first class park with all the amenities. Below is the office and restaurant where we had a pizza and full bottle of wine for $20 total ... nice.
Here's the view out of the picture window of Mount Lemmon one of our favorite vistas.
One of the first tasks was to have the local cleaning crew give the Flying Scotsman a good bath to get rid of the sand, salt, and mud from our latest snowy adventure; and Tucson is a good place to get the house in order.
After the chores we were invited by our good friends Dave and Karen Hammond to one of their favorite eating places. This is the J Bar located in the foothills above Tucson and is part of a Westin resort and spa. We were about 1000 feet above the city in the valley and our dinner seating was spectacular on the veranda and about 70 degrees ... wow what a view!
Unfortunately the waitperson didn't capture the view beyond us toward the city in the valley but here are the happy diners on the porch. Myself and Jo-Anne, then Karen and Dave, and their son Ryan; an excellent dinner in a setting over the golf course that will be hard to beat.
The food was excellent as well as the service and allowed us to reminisce about old times and Ryan was very patient with the ol folks and their memories.
