For the last couple of days near Sacramento we saw a bunch of neat things in the city that we normally wouldn't have without the expert help of friends and family. The Old Town part of the city is really a well preserved part of history by the rail yard and harbor that still has the feel of the 1880s.

Especially this guy who was oiling the rail cars as trainmen have been doing since the middle of the 1800s.

We then were treated to dinner on the Delta King paddle wheeler ship by Julie and Bob ... all enjoying great food, fun, and an awesome setting for downtown Sacramento.

The next night we were treated to a dinner at the Tower restaurant one of Sacramento's oldest. It dates from the 1930s as a theater and record production facility and was a cool setting. Reminded me of the Taj tower at Randolph AFB and dates from the same middle 1930s era.

The food was a Spanish theme and with some good wine the old and young boys enjoyed a nice afternoon. Jo-Anne kept a good eye on us.

Above are the blogster ... then brother Bill (xx) and his boys Ryan (16) and Sean (19). Northern California at its best. The day was about 80 but the humidity low and we really enjoyed eating just behind where this was taken in the lush tropical garden ... wonderful days!
