While in the area near Placerville and Rocklin and Sacramento we chose two different RV parks. In Auburn for a week was the Auburn Gold RV Resort which was all paved and had an abundance of trees which spewed the catkins all over everthing ... hey it's sprintime in northern California.
I put this on the blog a couple of days ago but it is really an excellent park with great management, landscaping, and facilities. And it was convenient to Placerville, Rocklin and Sacramento.
Then we decided to move down the hill to Sacramento for a few days as we had not seen much of that city. The choice here was the CalExpo RV park. This is an excellent park right in the middle of the city. While it is really a great big parking lot next to the horse track and event center it has everything you could need in a short term place in the middle of this neat city.
You can just see the Flying Scotsman under the orange sign to the left of the picture.
