While in the Auburn area which is on I-80 to get over to Placerville we had to motor down Highway 49 which is about 26 miles of 30 MPH hills and valleys around the American River. At the center of it all of course is the place gold was discovered in California.

The road we were on was really challenging and we were glad we didn't try to bring the bus down it as we had first planned.

I wonder who they would fine if the poor soul did jump from up there ... that's if they found anything to fine ... oh well! Absolutely beautiful river valley and road.
