Well we were at the Hill country RV resort in New Braunfels this morning and now we are 310 miles to the east down I-10 in Sulphur, LA, a suburb of Lake Charles. This is a great park (A+ Motel & RV Park) as you can see with all concrete and a lighted fountain ... our kind of place and only $30 for the night. A really nice travel day with a tail wind of 15 mph and nice cloud cover ... and 55 degrees ... cool and smooth runnin'.

In New Braunfels we had dinner with the old crowd ... nah don't go there ... at BJ's. Here's the ol boys and girls with a bit of brew under an appropriate sign. I think that the three guys here have pretty close to 100 years of military history between them and in their time worked toward the freedom of this country a great deal.

And for humor the same crowd at the Gristmill place from a year ago ... you can see that Bruce has very little change in his fashion sense ... if he had any at all anyhow.

For lunch the next day we had to hit Oma's place. We have been coming to this German restaurant for at least 20 years and maybe more. The ironic part was they had placed this "Remember When" booklet on our table and that was the year we moved to New Braunfels from Germany.

Even after this amount of time it is refreshing to see the old recipe hasn't changed and it is still the best chicken schnitzel since we left the old country ... absolutely perfect and the brat kartaufelen (sp) were super as well.

Today was a longer day than we had planned but with the weather system we are following we may make some more good time tomorrow as we head east ... we'll see.
