Television Wrap

No this isn't a new food delight nor is it a new genre of music ... we have settled on a solution for the television failures and insurance delays.

The cabinet below contained the Jensen 32 inch TV that came with the Flying Scotsman and filled the entire space. The insurance company finally agreed with the electronic repair folks and consigned it to the scrap pile. While all this was going on, and with the super exchange rate right now, we decided to get a new TV for the bedroom and use it in this cavity up front until the decision was made.

We got an RCA 28 inch that worked nicely here in the interim. When the company paid us for the main TV we took it back to the bedroom, installed it there, and then got a new Samsung 32 inch one for the living room. Because the new TV is in the 16:9 format it left a large space which we filled with a new Samsung sound bar and all fit really well.

Again, in the bedroom the cavity left by the old, square, 19 inch TV was turned into a linen cupboard and the RCA fit nicely below with a DVD player tucked in beside it.

With the cupboard open it shows that we have gained a good bit of space for more towels and the like while still having a TV that is eye level yet unobtrusive.

The newer RVs, of course are all now planned with the small size and new shape of the wall-mounted televisions or ones that pop up from a cabinet.  This change in the TV size has really made for a lot more room in the RV and a bunch less weight we have to lug around.
