Fall Has Arrived
On Our Pond In Barrie
As the colors start to change and the honk of the Canadian Geese gets louder we know it's time to start thinking of heading the Flying Scotsman south. We went from no geese on the pond for most of the summer and now there are at least 200 coming and going in loud and flashy fashion.
Also this beautiful blue heron below with its distinctive "gronk" call.
Below another shot at the pond which forms a really neat still life that we call "Arrows of Time."
Several of our friends have already left the KOA. I was able to take this different shot of the RV because our good neighbors Jean-Pierre and Michelle, both working in academics, took their rig back to Timmins, about an 8 hour drive NORTH of here.
A couple of out-takes from our recent trip back to Port Huron for the monthly allergy shot. For happy hour we partook of the local drink below ... actually quite good!
And finally, as we were seated in the bar, we remarked something to the effect, "We know the place has takeout, but hope that boat slows a bit!"
Actually all the large traffic on the St. Clair River at this point just below joining Lake Huron have to make a pretty good turn right here to stay in the deepest part of the channel; but it was a bit disconcerting when the first one charged right at our table!
